I grew up on a farm in rural Duplin County. I graduated from East Duplin High School and James Sprunt Community College. I am retired from the NC Forestry Service (NCFS). I have wanted to finish my college education since I began my career with the NC Forestry Service (NCFS). I worked until retirement, then returned to college. I want to get back into the work force. I have alot of skills received from the tenure with the NC Forestry Service (NCFS). Will working with the NCFS I have had many safety classes. I was certified CPR and First Aide, and Wilderness First Aide. Working with the NCFS, I certified and recertified numerous classes such as, Chainsaw, Vehicle safety (Defensive Driving), Forklift Training, ATV operators course, Fireline Safety (annually), "Look up, Look down, and Look around" course, etc. I completed , "Coaching the Lift Truck Operator" course. A NCFS career involves many training courses and classes.
After retirement, I babysitted my granddaughters and attained my BS Industrial Technology degree. I have helped my children along and performed small jobs for my land lord while working on my degree. I have recently finished my degree this Summer Semester 2025. I have acquired much experience during my tenure with the NCFS and life period. I supervised numerous seasonal employees with the NCFS. Working with the NCFS over the years, we began using the computer more and more. I completed training, important time nd equipment documentation online. I think this is where I got the computer interest to go to college for computers when I retired. A large part of my job as a Forest Fire Equipment Operator (FFEO) was keeping my equipment in ready to go condition. Welding, maintenance, and mechanics was a big part of it. I have acquired initiative and experience of team work and planning over the years to help me succeed.
