Although I've worked in multiple settings as an RN, my love is heart patients. Particularly, post or pre MI patients. They were my favorite patients in the ER while I was there, and they still continue to be my favorite. My current unit primarily takes post heart cath patients, but we also get overflow from our telemetry units to our med-surg ICU at times. I am open to another critical care position similar to what I do, or another telemetry unit, or even the ER again (though would have to stick to a level 3 unit).

I was caring for a man who'd had an MI. When he'd came back from the cathlab he was afraid to go to sleep. I allowed his wife to stay in his room the next night so he could fall asleep. We normally don't allow this, with the exception of patients who are actively dying. I choose to make an exception for this couple.
