Assisting in the production of custom wood products such as milling tongue and groove flooring and ceilings, and constructing custom furniture. Along with producing the products, there are many other tasks like delivering the product in a timely manner, maintenance on machinery, upkeep of the shop/work area, and down to smaller things such as metal detecting and denailing lumber to putting it on sticks to be kiln dried.

Though i've only been employed there for the past year, I spent the first 17 years of my life around the wood business.

Blue Ridge Endurance is a privately owned running race management company with races ranging from a marathon to a 208-mile relay race.

• As Race Course Coordinator, I'm responsible for the lead vehicle, which includes supervising the marking and signing of the courses, supply distribution to event personnel and volunteer community groups, and making sure everything is running smooth on the front end of events. I also run the sweep vehicle which includes tasks like supervising course clean-up, sign removal, collection of race supplies, and ensuring the cleanliness of support-station sites.
• As Assistant to the Race Director, I help troubleshoot on course challenges during active events and maintain an open line of communication with the race director. Tasks vary based on what problems occur throughout events. This is also a big role in the finish/starting line sites as well. With all participants gathered in one area, it is important to make sure everything runs smoothly so the race and events will all stay on track.

As a supervisor, I was responsible for many tasks and employees. This goes from paying close attention to guidelines, specifications, and detailed instructions to continuously adhere to strict operational and maintenance regulations, to increasing productivity by reducing downtime, budgeting effectively, allocating tasks, and maintaining high standards of safety and work quality.

As a crew, we took care of hardscape construction, lawn/grounds maintenance, and snow removal, along with home inspections and basic home maintenance.

During this time, I also expanded my knowledge of Spanish and am able to generally communicate with Spanish speaking persons.
