Cover Letter

12/18/25, Northside Elementary School of the Arts, I am excited to apply for the School Librarian position. With more than 20 years of experience as an Elementary Lead Librarian and School Librarian/Technology Coordinator, I have seen firsthand how a well-run, welcoming library can shape students' confidence, curiosity, and love of learning. Supporting students, collaborating with teachers, and creating an inclusive space where all children feel successful has been the most rewarding part of my career. I bring a strong understanding of the school environment and the role the library plays in supporting curriculum and academic achievement. I enjoy working closely with teachers to align library resources with curriculum standards and instructional goals, whether through co-planned lessons, research projects, or literacy initiatives that extend learning beyond the classroom. Building positive relationships with students is central to my work. I value strong classroom management grounded in patience, consistency, and an understanding of child development. I strive to meet students where they are, encourage growth, and help them develop confidence as readers, researchers, and responsible digital citizens. Clear communication with students, staff, and administration has always been a priority for me, and I appreciate the collaborative nature of school communities. Most importantly, I am passionate about fostering a culture of reading, curiosity, and respect. I enjoy advocating for library programs, continuing my professional growth, and contributing positively to the school community. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to student success to your school. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss how I can support your students, staff, and learning community.
