This position will co-lead implementation, coordination and administration of a multi-site, research funded dietary weight loss and exercise protocol for The Osteoarthritis Prevention Study (TOPS). The person interacts primarily with study subjects, other departmental or University staff, Project Manager and Principal Investigator. The position will work on UNC campus and at intervention sites in Orange and Durham County.
• Performs all exercise specialist duties & diagnostic testing.
• Ability to interpret 12 lead & cardiopulmonary tests.
• Ability to develop exercise prescription for all patient populations.
• Assist the therapy staff with the delivery of patient care.Understand medical benefits
• Communicate with the therapy staff when available to assist with patient care
• Assist with training of new staff
• Assist in the development of internal administrative standards.
• Answer phones, and take detailed messages.
• Greet and direct visitors to proper locations.
• Maintain a high quality of communication between staff members, and patients.
• Handles complaints and requests in a professional manner,
• Prepares daily schedules for patient care.
