Results-driven machinist with extensive experience at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co, skilled in troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Proven ability to enhance production efficiency through effective planning and collaboration. Expertise in welding and fabricating precision parts, while maintaining strong communication and leadership skills in a multi-craft environment. In over 25 years in a manufacturing environment, I have worked safely and efficiently all while having a perfect attendance record.
Using schematics or blueprints, I fabricated precision parts for manufacturing equipment. Whether it was welding, running a milling machine or turning with a lathe I was required to keep spare parts or get production machines back online in a timely fashion. At Goodyear we were required to be multi craft, so my job was a little more complex than just machine shop. On a daily basis I was required to change motors, sprockets, pulleys, shafts and pumps. I was stationed in the powerhouse for about 4 years and performed yearly overhaul on boilers, and also pm work on air compressors. For the last several years I have been in the role of lead hand. This position required me to assist others in performing their duties. This job required me to go look at the job, put the materials list together and plan the work. At this job I have done carpentry work, painted, repaired concrete floors, masonry work, operated excavators, skid steers, and many other types of heavy equipment. I also am trained in repairing and maintaining high pressure steam line, which includes changing valves and gaskets. I have been required to do all these tasks in a safe manner and am trained in lockout/tagout procedures. I am forklift certified.
