Rocky Mount

Summary

As the current demand planner, I maintain demand manger downloads, review all customer shop order request, and validate the required forecast for priorities such as Daimler, Navistar, Paccar Bluebird. I do the same for off highway customers demand to help control any over or under consumed inventory that may occur month to month at the Rocky mount engine plant. My current role has I am responsible for controlling the data changes within NGPOM and demand manger. After meeting with the director and mangers every Wednesday I manipulate the data inside of NGPBOM to ensure the correct EDI is flowing to the supply base, for example if Navistar has a major drop I have the knowledge to go inside of NGPBOM and match Navistar’s latest forecast to drive the right numbers through EDI. I am also the main contact for Ecommerce issues related to sourcing sets such as Approved supplier list(ASL) while mapping Advance shipment notifications (ASN) that helps supplier tell the plants material has shipped. I am continuously working with IT on issues concerning software and programs to help things move along smoothly concerning Oracle, NGPBOM, Demand manger, ASCP, RLM, MPS. I am currently going into Oracle, the RMEP data base system every day validating and releasing customer request shop orders, I am the gate keeper for updating the attached rates within NGPBOM week by week to drive more material or slow down material per hot customer request such as VPCR(value package change request). Every month I go into ASCP and review and validate each part number associated with those particular option to see if the inventory is increasing or decreasing. I create the SIOP(sales in operation procedure) which gives a breakdown of material needs for the next 7 months for production. The SIOP gives the RMEP’s finance team the predicted spending outlook from assembly and machining. I am a big believer in process improvement, I track everything! I have the ability to write clearly, present ideas from my findings, I can document and show my finding in single point lessons, I have the ability to write work instructions, I have the ability to write user practice kits that will help anyone find their way through the system, I can bring issue to closure to software issues. I try to be efficient in anything I am working towards; I can communicate efficiently while multitasking with high motivation and a sense of urgency. I am very experienced in Visio, excel, PowerPoint presentations, pivot tables and process flow charts. I have the ability to respond to the needs of others while maintaining one’s own objectives and sense of dignity. I have the ability to relate to routine operations in a manner that is consistent with existing solutions to problems, I do conform to established policies and procedures. I do comply with Cummins Code of Conduct, business ethics and treatment of others. I am a safe driver and I absolutely love to travel. I am fully vaccinated and ready for any occasion.

  • I am currently covering 2 roles at RMEP
  • I am the UAT tester(User acceptance tester), the SEM(subject matter expert) for the MPS(master production schedule) the MPS plans direct demand(called independent demand)
  • The MPS demand comes from sales orders, service orders and forecast from customer requirements
  • The MPS system will be implemented at RMEP site October 2021
  • As the SEM I will validate the integrity of the data in with Oracle while training other to use the system
  • As the only demand planner for RMEP I collaborate across serval departments, customer service, compiling, production planning, VPI planning, engineering, IT support, Ecommerce, finance, and machining production
  • My main focus is to see what forecast should be adjusted, my duty is to unlock forecast by inputting volume changes that can be automatically factored into the plan and transmitted to the supply base through EDI transmission
  • I approve or deny shop orders coming from the off highway FCG code customers who manually input data and or forecast into demand manager concerning the needs of off highway customers
  • This is done by validating downloads out of demand manger, reviewing configurations and configuration lead time data
  • Once the validations are complete, I approve or deny request by firming the customers build date within Oracle which tells Oracle to create a work order for that particular customer, re-promising shop orders within Oracle is part of this role
  • I’m also the creator the weekly buy plan review which is reviewed by the material managers and directors and Salil Khosla
  • This information instructs us which PBOM needs attention, this buy plan point out which PBOM should be increased or decrease due to forecast change
  • This buy plan also shows the acc manager fcst against the plant forecast
  • I lead weekly meetings with all the priority customer reps such as Daimler,(Elaine and Tara rep) Navistar,(Ritesh and Spencer) Blue bird,(Ashley S.) Paccar(Nandha) to collect any updated information coming from the customers that may tweak these decisions
  • I create the monthly RCCP(Rough-cut capacity plan) for RMEP which gives assembly a rough-cut number of what they should be planning to build for the next 4 months
  • I am the gate keeper here at RMEP for all production software calendars that has to be updated every quarter with Oracle and NGPBOM, I block the down days to ensure firm/forecast demand cannot flow into days the plant is closed for business
