With my years of healthcare experience, I have acquired strong clinical knowledge, keen analytical skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance. Having a good understanding of coding systems (like ICD-10 and CPT), and federal and state regulations related to documentation and reimbursement, makes me a strong candidate for this position as a Clinical Auditor, APC. During my time as a CCM nurse practitioner, I occasionally audited other colleagues' charts and discovered that I have strong investigative skills, the ability to analyze complex data, and identify trends in documentation. In the past, I've been a mentor to a non-clinical UHC staff member in a different state. I learned that our interaction strengthened my verbal and communication skills, and allowed me to be a stronger member of my team. As a Clinical Auditor, I will provide effective education to staff on documentation, coding, and billing practices. As an NP, I adhere to legal and regulatory standards, and encourage fellow providers to adhere to healthcare regulations and compliance. Reviewing medical records and identifying discrepancies, errors, and potential compliance issues is a challenge for an auditor. My strong problem-solving skills and data analysis will contribute to the financial integrity of UHC, and the quality of healthcare services for all members.
