Educational Philosophy
All children have the ability to learn. The key is to teach them through doing and to recognize the individual needs of students and plan lessons with multiple forms of representation, engagement and expression. Today children learn by experiencing hands-on what life is about and how their education is a part of life. What they learn in the classroom teaches them to be life long learners who can apply classroom experiences into everyday situations. As an instructional leader my philosophy stresses the importance of reflection. Reflection on teaching styles and strategies is crucial to the development of a successful teacher. I encourage and promote mentoring and peer observations to better oneself as a teacher. It is through STEM programs that a district and school can grow. The networking and sharing of ideas is an invaluable resource for all districts and individuals. It is my hope to bring UDL practices into any curriculum and to help teachers, students and parents see that learning happens all day, everyday.
