Proven leader in vehicle and equipment maintenance with a focus on electrical systems and safety management. Successfully managed repairs and preventative maintenance, reducing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency across multiple departments.
I supervise a group of mechanics and supervisors as well as other semi-skilled personnel in the Wilson County equipment unit. At this location we preform small engine, automotive and heavy equipment mechanical work as well as electrical diagnostics on trucks and equipment with the use of various scan tools including Diesel Laptop, and snap-on scan tools. It's a top priority to complete all given repairs and service work in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. By completing repairs and service (PM) in a timely manner we reduce the downtime of a given vehicle or piece of equipment for the user department and keeping all items on an accurate preventive maintenance schedule further minimizes downtime and prolongs the life of vehicles and equipment. I am responsible for determining repairs to be made and the priority in which these should be made as well as maintaining a spare fleet of vehicles and equipment. Keep track of (E4) equipment in working with the fleet manager and the area equipment superintendent i have written up vehicles and equipment to be sold as well i use the state surplus site to write up and list for sale non titled items. I am a listed point of contact for all for sale items and being a contact I routinely deal with the general public from answering questions over the phone, showing vehicles and equipment, scheduling pickup of sold vehicles and acquiring all required paperwork at time of pickup. Required paperwork for sold items is then compiled on a spreadsheet and sent to the appropriate personnel in the Raleigh office. I communicate with other departments on various topics including scheduling Preventative Maintenance, equipment availability, and status of repairs as well as communicating with other divisions for things such as equipment that is E0 available for transfer and in the event, parts availability is an issue another division may have something available that we would be able to remove a good part from. I use SAP daily for time entry, check employees working time and ensure it has been charged to appropriate work orders and all information is entered, creating work orders (1100) and PM orders (1200), checking PM lists for current and future repairs, running fuel and lube inventories, charging out oils that have been used on appropriate work orders, pull up lube charts, check open or outstanding work orders, locate equipment manuals, lookup where equipment is charged to and past transfer history, equipment status, odometer readings, find equipment using license plate numbers, fuel and lube transactions, parts inventory, lookup P-card transactions, reverse fuel, oil or time that has been charged incorrectly, check fuel master AIMS transactions and errors, as well as other SAP transactions. I perform employee's performance reviews and developmental plans (VIP) as well as requesting and approving training through LMS. I have experience in performing disciplinary action (documented counseling and written warnings) and accident reports on employees including communicating with safety engineers and human resources personnel throughout the process. Conduct daily safety (tailgate) meetings as well as monthly safety meetings, facility audits completing required rosters and forms. I also complete all required forms for the Wilson Equipment unit’s Spill Prevention Plan. I am a hiring manager for the Wilson Equipment Unit I use workday to review applicant's applications, contact applicants to set up interviews I then conduct interviews once interviewed applicant provides references, I then contact them to request reference forms required through workday are completed when a selection is made, I compile all required documents to submit as a hiring package. I walk shop floor throughout the day just to see exactly what employees are working on and where they are in the process of completing repairs and will offer a helping hand if needed.
I supervise a group of mechanics and other semi-skilled personnel within the Pitt and Greene County equipment shops. At both locations, we preform small engine, automotive and heavy equipment mechanic work and strive to ensure all work is completed in an accurate and timely manner. While preforming this task within safety guidelines. I am responsible for determining repairs to be made and the priority in which these should be made to reduce the downtime on user departments equipment, as well as maintaining spare fleet equipment located at the Pitt County yard. I help to maintain the sale line equipment in an orderly fashion and have given information to fleet manager on the condition of vehicles and equipment for sale when requested I assist employees with troubleshooting and identifying failed parts. I have also assisted employees with more difficult tasks whether it be working alongside them or showing them a more efficient way if possible. I have also mentored employees such as advanced verts by teaching them more advanced transactions on SAP and fuel and oil inventory. I create repair work orders for each employee making an assigned repair in the event parts are needed for repairs depending on the shop I'm working in Pitt/Greene I either receive quotes from the parts department or I contact vendors for quotes for any items over $1000 I then fill out spreadsheets including costs, required parts, justification as to why parts are needed and include a justification from user department heads as to why equipment is needed. This is then sent to the superintendent then to division engineer for approval. Once I receive this spreadsheet back, I then order approved parts paying with p-card. When parts are received, I complete invoices with all necessary information (cost center, G/L code, work order, equipment number, and VMRS code) enter parts in component tab (under IW32) in SAP then turn them into proper persons to be reconciled. I use SAP to pull currently due and future PM's and transfer them over to an excel spreadsheet that is then emailed to each user department within our county and communicate with the department heads to schedule these PM's in the most efficient way possible in conjunction with daily equipment repairs and their current workflow to minimize equipment downtime. I use SAP for daily time entry for employees on repair and maintenance (PM) orders as well as creating and time entry on 1900 orders made with WBS numbers and other department cost center numbers. I use SAP to check fuel and lube inventories (ZMB19) for our fuel trucks, shop oil and three fuel sites (two in Pitt co. and one in Greene) as well as charging out used fuel and oil to remove from inventory and show used materials on correct work orders and (ZFE2) to manually charge fuel and oil from fuel trucks. I fill out spread sheets and other forms to complete bi-weekly and yearly oil and fuel inventories. Fill out order forms to keep fuel and oil inventories in proper stock. I fill out EQ7 forms which are sent to the administrative specialist to properly code equipment status as well as ensure it is charged to the proper department. Use SAP to check past parts charged to a given piece of equipment and pull previous work orders (IW40) to determine what repairs have previously been completed on a piece of equipment. I maintain the parts room inventory and charge out all parts in our Greene County shop utilizing (IW32, MIGO, and ZIW32) as well as purchasing all parts from vendors for the Greene County shop. Lookup service manuals (ZEQBL and IH08), lube charts and equipment location, past equipment transfer history, equipment status, odometer readings (IH08) find equipment numbers from license plate number (IE36), mileage corrections (IK02) to ensure proper mileage is reflected in SAP, lookup vehicle and equipment fuel transactions (MB51), organize parts room inventory in SAP (ZEBQL), check outstanding p-card transactions (ZPCARD), reverse fuel or oil that has been charged incorrectly (ZFE2_CR), check fuel master/AIMS errors (ZFUELLIST), as well as other transactions on SAP, preform bi annual performance reviews and developmental plans for employees. I have assigned and assisted employees with requesting or approving LMS trainings. Have experience in preforming disciplinary action (documented counseling and written warnings) and accident reports on employees including communicating with safety engineers and human resource personnel throughout the process. conduct daily safety (tailgate) meetings as well as monthly safety meetings and facility audits completing required rosters and forms (form M-2 for safety and form R-2 for facility audits). I am a hiring manager for all VERT and TW positions within the Pitt and Greene equipment shops I review applications, call references, set up and conduct interviews and complete hiring packages for new hires once selections are made. I still work in shop from time-to-time diagnosing user department complaints, preventive maintenance and preforming large and small repairs on various types of equipment.
