My name is Koda Moody, and I recently moved to Charlotte as I begin building my career in interior design. I am writing to introduce myself, share a bit of my background, and express my genuine interest in any internship, entry-level, or mentorship opportunities your firm may have in the coming year.
I am currently a Sales Associate with an interior landscaping company, where I design layouts for commercial buildings by selecting the planters, colors, textures, materials, and plants that best fit a space. This role has strengthened my design eye, taught me how to balance form and function, and allowed me to work closely with clients to understand—and elevate—their vision. Strong customer relationships are central to my work, and I take pride in the trust and rapport I build with everyone I serve.
After a great deal of reflection and soul-searching, I discovered that my true passion lies in residential interior design. I am deeply inspired by spaces that tell a story and bring beauty and meaning into everyday life. I am a highly detailed, intuitive, and driven person who is constantly creating mood boards, concept boards, and personal design projects. I draw particularly strong aesthetic inspiration from the controlled chaos of the 1980s, MCM, biophilic spaces and from interiors that feel timeless, warm, and full of character.
I am currently beginning my Associate Degree in Interior Design at Liberty University, with an expected graduation in Summer 2026. As I continue my education, I will gain hands-on experience in this industry that I will soon call home.
I was a photographer and journalist for a youth camp in my home town for the summers of 2022 and 2023. I took over 15,000 photos for each summer. It was a blessing to work around like minded people and to make connections. Some of the following points were tasks of mine.
Working at Tapoco Lodge taught me a lot about the service industry and how to operate under extreme stress and seasonal busyness.
