Summary

Starting in 1993, joining the volunteer fire service and rising to the rank of Assistant Chief with Gates Fire Department, now currently a Captain with South Camden Fire Department, my fire service has spanned 33 years to date. First certified as a North Carolina state EMT in 1996 and again in 2018, I have over 20 years of ems and rescue service. Graduating from Martin Community College in 2001, I began 10 years of service with Elizabeth City police Department. Starting out as a patrol officer, later to serve as a K-9 handler and Narcotics/gang investigator. In 2015, I began my service with Pasquotank-Camden Central Communications. In the past nearly 11 years, I have advanced to my current position as an Assistant Emergency Communications Specialist Supervisor. Along the way I have gained my certification as a CTO and maintaining certifications for DCI, EMD,CPR. Along with my basic telecommunicator certification, I have received not only an intermediate professional certificate but my advance professional certificate for telecommunicators from the North Carolina Sheriffs' Education and Training Standards Commission. Over the last 33 years, I have dedicated countless hours to training and furthering my education in these respective fields accumulating over 6000 hours of training. Some highlights include being a training officer for police,fire,ems, and communications. Some specialized skills I have acquired include extensive extrication training, search and rescue on land and water, numerous FEMA trainings as well as training in peer support and crisis negations for law enforcement dispatchers from the FBI. .

Duties include answering emergency and non-emergency calls, radio dispatching and computer entry of all calls received. Act as the 911 supervisor and preform all duties and responsibilities when required. Works as a certified training officer responsible for training new Emergency Communication Specialist. Serves as support for the Emergency Communications Specialist Supervisor and administrative staff.
