The school I work at currently is called Impact Journey School, and it is a school for kids with various special needs. This job has been very rewarding and taught me many valuable lessons. Each child at the school has different needs and expresses those needs in a different way, so I have gained a lot of patience and creativity while aiming to provide what each child needs. At the school, you are not only working with the children but the parents as well. So I have become skillful in communication by communicating with the children each day and also their parents.
Nursing Fundamentals is a class offered at my high school that allows you to graduate with your CNA (certified nursing assistant). Throughout this class, we hold vision screenings at the local elementary and middle schools and intern at a nursing home. I have learned great conflict-resolution tactics that have been demonstrated in the nursing home and have learned how to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
In the National Honor Society, I worked on service projects around my school and the community to help improve our community. One of our main service activities consisted of putting together meal boxes for those who needed them. National Honor Society allowed me to demonstrate my abilities to work well in a sometimes fast-paced and stressful environment.

Junior Guild is a club made up of high school sophomores through seniors whose goal is to help women and children who have struggled with domestic abuse. We host multiple service activities and fundraisers throughout the year, with the proceeds benefiting our local shelter for victims of domestic violence. Junior Guild is proud to have the opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence. Being a member has instilled in me a strong sense of personal responsibility, as we primarily work with women and their children, and I feel a deep connection to them.
