On May 26, 2008, Alexander Clarke joined the work team of the Municipal Sports Institute IMDEPOR of Puerto Cortés Honduras, chaired by Eng. Luis Baide, who has the initiative to include other sports disciplines so that the young people of the port city and its surroundings would have more options since at that time the institute only offered soccer instruction.
He served as Sports Coordinator until 2021. As such, he is recognized for his enthusiasm, performance and commitment to promoting sports in the municipality of Puerto Cortés, participating in the founding of the first basketball school at the
children's level, and the beach and indoor volleyball school, making the Municipal Sports Institute one of the leading institutions for national sports talent, in soccer, basketball, baseball and volleyball.
There is certainly a lot to tell about this sports enthusiast, and it is also worth highlighting his struggle to implement other sports such as wheelchair basketball, in which he served as a coach, swimming, chess,
Judo, Taekwondo, Canoeing, Triathlon.
Promoter of basketball and volleyball tournaments at the level of educational centers, through special programs implemented by
strategic alliances with companies interested in sports. Due to his dedication and commitment to sports, on August 10, 2022, he was honored as an outstanding citizen for Buenos Aires society.
On his way to being an exemplary citizen, his commitment went beyond. For someone who has the blood of an athlete in his veins and who sees sport as an instrument that transforms lives, he never gave up on one of his dreams: to leave a mark through it.
That is why he is part of the committee that organizes the annual Olympics for people with disabilities, being a fundamental piece since his contribution included the design and planning of this important event.
Among other contributions to local sports, he also distinguished himself as president of the Major Porteña Basketball League, and was a delegate of the minor leagues and Major Porteña Soccer League. A member of the commission for the construction of the first municipal gymnasium in this city, he did not give up in the face of the various obstacles that arose in this project and was an essential link in making the dream of all the people of Buenos Aires come true: to have a decent facility where they could practice various sports.
