CIS Mentor

I was fortunate enough to participate in Caldwell County Schools CIS (Communities in Schools) Program the last year and a half. As a mentor, you make a commitment to give an hour of your time, once a week, to whichever school you select. The school I had selected was Hudson Middle School. This program allows you to mentor at-risk students to stay in school. Mentoring consist of showing up weekly, to show that you are dependable and reliable to these students. You help build relationships with vulnerable students by illustrating trust, dependability, a positive attitude, and by being a positive role model. Many of these kids are in need of a caring adult to show them support and guidance. I was nominated and awarded Mentor of the Year, last year in 2023. I take pride in helping our community out any way possible, but especially when it comes to being a positive influence in our young peoples lives.
