As a structure mechanic, I assisted with aircraft mid-point visits and heavy maintenance visits. These included heavy corrosion inspections requiring the opening up of large aircraft structures, removing corrosion, mapping out damage, and communicating findings with the customer and engineering. I was also a part of a heavy interior modification to Boeing 737s, where the interior was retrofitted to include an additional lavatory. I assisted with the structural installation and initial conformity of the airframe structure. All details and incorrect findings were documented on drawings, engineering orders, and communicated with various customer engineering teams to update final conformity paperwork.
As a Maintenance Supervisor I updated my leadership team daily on the following: Expected man-hours on the aircraft that day, Man-hours expended on previous day plan VS actual and variance, Percentage of routine and non-routine items open and completed, Areas that may affect the release date of the aircraft to include parts, engineering and lengthy elapsed time work orders.
