  • September 2022 to Present
  • I am currently a member of the corporate board for this nonprofit organization. At Nebraska Leadership Seminar, NLS, we promote high school students in understanding what leadership is. We invite in speakers from many different backgrounds to speak with the students. NLS lasts approximately 4 days. We have small groups and workbooks to discuss many different ways to become a leader. Every student and volunteer staff member takes the Clifton Strength Finder test to discover what top 5 strengths each individual has. We discuss those strengths with the students over the seminar and help them understand how to use those strengths to be a leader in their community and lives. We currently have four corporate board members, including myself. The four of us work together to plan the curriculum, handle nonprofit finances, recruit students, schedule seminar with colleges within the state, and work together to understand the best ways to lead by example.

Additional Information

Throughout the summers of 2022 and 2023 I volunteered to coach the local swim team. In 2022, I was the team’s assistant coach. In 2023, I took over as the head coach and the only coach. I had 13 swimmers ranging in ages 5 years old to 21 years old. I taught swimmers the appropriate skills to swim each stroke properly, explained the rules, organized a swim meet at our home location, and organized each swimmers strengths to offer them the best outcome. I had two swimmers attend the championship swim meet. We met with teams from Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado. My two swimmers who attended placed with top 6 medals in two events each.
