Brianna Tyler

I would describe myself as compassionate, upbeat, positive, and dedicated to serving others. Even on challenging days, I strive to keep a smile on my face for my patient's wellbeing and to maintain a positive work environment for my coworkers. If I have learned anything thus far throughout my time as a nurse, it is to never give up. It would be an honor to become a student at this outstanding university and to become a DNP. I live in a small, rural county that is in demand of practitioners and I would give anything to be able to assist the individuals in my county with all of their healthcare needs!

• Selected to be member of Shared Governance Committee at McLeod Loris Hospital where we assess the quality of care provided to patients and implement new ways to better care for each patient.
• Involved in Unit Based Council Project to assist novice nurses with becoming familiar with crash cart and how to respond during a code.
• Mentor for newly hired nurses and nursing students.
• Serve as charge nurse on the medical-surgical unit.

On my spare time away from school or work, I enjoy tending to my small farm and spending time with my "furbabies". I love to go to go riding in my jeep or taking my family for a ride on my boat. Anywhere on the water is where you can usually find me! I also enjoy shopping with my mama or fishing with my daddy and brother. I love my family and I am striving to make them proud of me!
