Protect the general public, visitors, fellow staff, and inmates by providing safety and security inside and outside of the facility. Conducting rounds inside the housing units and on the prison yards. Patrolling the perimeter in perimeter patrol vehicles armed to deter or stop attempted escapes. Respond to codes for fighting, stabbings, overdoses, suicide attempts, fires, natural disasters, and other high stress situations. Conducting searches on inmates including pat frisk, strip searches, cell searches, and locker searches. Search visitors, vendors, outside law-enforcement, and staff entering through the gatehouse or incoming vehicles through the sally port. Transport inmates on emergency hospital trips and court trips all over the state. Conduct drug tests on inmates.
