I am a 57 year old mother of 3 grown children.

I grew up in a household where my mother was a typesetter working from home. She had me proofread the documents she was typesetting from a very early age.

From 1986 - 1993 I worked at a printshop as the customer service/copy girl, but I also proofread documents for the in house typesetters. I answered the phones, helped the walk-ins, and did the filing.

In my personal experience, I have written 21 fiction novels (19 in a series), and while I have not been brave enough to try to get them published, I have spent decades proofreading and editing with the use of Grammarly, Ginger, AutoCrit, and currently ProWritingAid. I keep a subscription to Office 365 and have used Word and OneNote extensively, with some experience in Excel and Access. I also use Scrivener, so I have extensive experience with the Windows version of that program as well.

I had a stroke two years ago, so I am housebound, basically. My main reason for writing this resume is that I hope to find some kind of work I can manage at home via my internet connection and my PC. I'm not looking for anything groundbreaking, just more of a little something I can do to earn money and feel like I'm not such a burden to my family.

I should also mention I am a dedicated gamer. I play all kinds of video games regularly. I have written reviews and am a curator for one of the groups I help moderate on Steam.

My youngest son is non-verbal, low functioning autistic with mental retardation and epilepsy, so I have some experience dealing with the medical community regarding those mountains of paperwork.

As far as education, I completed high school in 1985, and after, went to technical school for one year.

I have been using PCs daily since the early 90s. I don't know Mac, but I know various versions of Windows. (Currently 3 of my personal PCs/laptops use Windows 11. The fourth is stuck with Windows 10 because of the TPM requirement.)

I have messed a little with AI. Mostly I've made artwork using Adobe Firefly, but I have tried a conversation with Microsoft's CoPilot just to see what would happen. I am fascinated by AI but as a creative person, I do worry a little about it.

I am also a commercial artist and learning digital painter. My illustrations have been published in two books, and I used to do lots of commercial art and portraits, but since the stroke, art is not something I feel particularly confident in.

I hope there's something out there that I can do to feel, at least in some small way, that I can contribute to the world and earn some money doing it.
