A distinguished 26 year career ensuring the public safety of Durham County. I progressed through the rigorous promotion requirements to handle increasingly responsible positions ultimately resulting in becoming the Director of the Durham County Detention Center. I was tasked with the training, development, and allocation of 218 Detention Officers, Deputy Sheriffs and Civilian employees. In addition, I was responsible for health and welfare of individuals housed within the Durham County Detention Center of which, has a capacity to hold up to 736 people. I was responsible to personally manage a budget of $18,535,000.00 and conduct budget presentations to the Durham County Board of County Commissioners on a yearly basis. Prior to this assignment, I was placed as the interim Chief Deputy of Law Enforcement Services for a period of 7 months. During this assignment I was responsible for a budget of $48,000,000.00 and approximately 500 employees.
