Summary

My first job in the ED really gave me invaluable experience and skills. Travel Nursing gave me flexibility and an ability to learn and adapt to new environments. I gained leadership experience as a charge nurse and was able to maintain the skills I learned in the ED like Ultrasound guided IV insertion. My time as a Float nurse at Wake Med developed me even more and I really enjoyed working on different units. I became a Firefighter in Raleigh to see a different side of healthcare and found that I really value and enjoy preforming hands on skills. I believe that I am extremely flexible and can learn new skill sets quickly. I enjoy learning, educating, and focusing on helping whatever team I work with.

Work History

Firefighter/EMT

Raleigh Fire Department
Raleigh, NC
04.2024 - Current

As a firefighter/EMT I respond to emergency scenes, assess care priories and ultimately work on bringing safety back to a chaotic scene. In addition to medical services I work as a team to provide Fire suppression when needed. The biggest thing I have leaned with this job has been how crucial it is to work really well with a team. I always have to be aware of my surroundings, communicate very clearly and work around and with others to accomplish multiple tasks at once.

Float RN

Wake Med Hospital
Raleigh, NC
11.2023 - 04.2024

As a Float Pool RN I was assigned to different units throughout three hospitals (Wake Med New Bern, Wake Med North, and Wake Med Cary). Units included ER holds, observation, Med Surg, PCU/Tele, Ortho, and Cardiac step down. This job required a unique flexibility and ability to work in different environments with all different people.

Travel Registered Nurse

Aya Healthcare and RN Network
01.2021 - 09.2023

During my time as a travel nurse I worked in numerous units and hospital systems throughout the country, I was able to gain a lot of experience. I became very accustomed to working in brand new environments with new policies with only a day or two of training.

I worked in Day surgery, Covid floors, Orhtho, Oncology, Cardio step down, and ER holds.

I was a Charge nurse of an Ortho floor and a Day surgery floor for several full contracts at Baylor in McKinney Texas.

I emphasized patient safety, efficient work flow, and giving the absolute best care to the patients.

I pride myself on my ability to preform hands on skills and give excellent patient care.

Emergency Department Nurse

Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital
Roanoke, VA
05.2019 - 12.2020

This was my first nursing job where I gained initial experience and really got to practice my skills. I worked in a 100 Bed Emergency department and cared for all levels of patients( From Triage to ICU level patients) I gained valuable experience in Ultrasound guided IVS. I worked in all areas of the ED including, the main ED, the triage desk, pediatric, psych, and holds.

Emergency medicine requires flexibility and efficiency otherwise the whole department can get overwhelmed. I learned how crucial it is for every member to do their job well.
