Tasting Room Associate

While working in the tasting room at Grandfather, my duties included;

  • Performing opening and closing duties
  • Use POS system to process sales from customers
  • Pre-make frozes, sangrias, and specialty seasonal drinks
  • Answer any questions customers may have regarding our wines and the vineyard
  • Assist customers in finding the perfect wine for them
  • Answer any general wine questions from customers
  • Make spritzers ordered by customers
  • pouring and selling flights, glasses, and bottles
  • Answering the phone
  • Answering questions regarding our wine club
  • Occasionally helping wash glasses

Prime 21 is a private, members only, fine dining restaurant. I worked in different areas throughout my time at Prime.


For hosting, my job duties included:

  • Answering questions regarding our memberships
  • giving prospective members tours of the restaurant
  • Answering the phone
  • Making reservations
  • Escorting members to the bar and to their table
  • Assigning reservations to their tables before dinner service as well as making a print-out for the servers, bartenders, and kitchen to let them know who we have coming in, what time, and what table they will be going to
  • Helping open and close the restaurants
  • Cleaning duties

Back-server:

  • Pour the members their water and serve them their wine and cocktails
  • Help run food for the servers
  • Un-mark the tables between courses and mark the tables to prepare for the next course
  • Prepare the dishes in expo to ensure they are clean and presentable before being served to members ( making sure proper silverware is with the correct dishes, wiping down the edges of the plates to get rid of any fingerprints, etc)
  • Buss tables after the tables have left
  • Clearing dirty dishes and silverware between courses from tables
  • Answer any questions our members may have regarding our menu items, wine, and cocktails


I have also taken tables on my own, trained behind the bar, cocktail served, and attended regular wine trainings and fine dining service trainings

Sales Associate

While working as a sales associate at Boutique LP, My job duties included:

  • Opening and closing the store
  • Using a POs system to perform sales
  • Answer the phone
  • Unpack, steam, and price new items to be put out on the store floor
  • Set up and reorganize displays
  • Rearrange jewelry and clothing throughout the store to make them as presentable as possible
  • Answer any questions customers may have and help them find the items they are looking for

Biltmore Estate

I worked at the Bistro at Antler Hill Village at the Biltmore Estate. During my time there I worked a couple different positions.


Host:

  • Make reservations for guests
  • Answer any questions guests may have regarding the restaurant, the estate, or the history of the Vanderbilt family
  • Assign reservations to tables, assign the tables to servers, and make a print-out for servers and the tables they will have during service
  • Escort guests to their tables
  • Pre-set tables for large parties


Bartender:

  • Prep the bar for lunch and dinner service
  • pre-open wines and set up the wine display
  • Prep garnishes for the cocktails
  • Memorize the drinks, the ingredients in them, and answer any questions regarding the drinks
  • Make drinks not on the drink menu
  • Clean
  • Make the cocktails and pour the beer and wine as the orders come in and ensure the correct drinks are given to the correct servers


Additionally, I helped food run, buss tables, dishwash, and attend wine and food trainings

Internship

During my senior year at Appalachian State, I did an internship at Grandfather assisting with their wine club. Throughout my internship, my duties included: 


  • Setting up and working our wine club events
