Provide day-to-day management oversight for four Rex Heart & Vascular Specialists locations throughout Wake County. Support six invasive cardiologists and manage a staff of 45, which includes nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, registered nurses, echo/vascular/nuclear technologists, medical assistants, front office administrators, certified coders and data entry specialists. Communicate regularly with physicians and staff regarding daily operations, policies/procedures, financial objectives and patient care, in addition to proactively developing systems and processes that anticipate patient needs as well as the needs of our internal and external customers. Coordinate and participate in compliance audits and safety rounds to identify areas for improvement and work towards adopting best practices. Organize, lead and participate in performance improvement activities and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and clinical healthcare standards. Responsible for the budget and must report out monthly to CFO and physicians regarding revenue and expenses at the practice level, this includes overseeing and monitoring the revenue cycle from the time the patient is seen in one of our offices through the payment of their claim. Provided day-to-day management oversight for the three outpatient Rex Wound Healing Centers, Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment and Extended Care Program. Managed a staff of 14, which included registered nurses, hyperbaric technicians, front office administrators and community education specialists. In charge of recruiting, interviewing and hiring new staff, as well as establishing performance expectations for current staff members, providing regular feedback and consistently managing to those expectations. Also worked collaboratively with a panel of 12 surgeons and 1 nurse practioner to ensure timely and accurate documentation in the patient record and compliance with the Clinical Practice Guidelines. Coordinated all activities associated with scheduling and executing mobile blood drives. Generated new mobile blood drive potential by networking, cold calling and following up with referrals or inquiries within a specified territory. Met with on-site coordinator of proposed blood drive to solidify support, determine marketing/promotional needs and outline the elements of a successful drive. Created all fliers, posters, table tents, etc. needed to promote the drive. Maintained weekly communication with on-site coordinator to ensure that recruitment efforts were progressing and that the anticipated numbers of donors were being scheduled. Forecasted donor projection on master schedule for use in resource allocation. Anticipated and attempted to remedy obstacles that may hinder the success of the drive including poor drive promotion by coordinator, inconvenient bloodmobile parking or donor concerns. Arrived ahead of the collection staff on the day of the drive and stayed long enough to ensure a smooth start.
