- I spend between 40-50 hours a week as a student teacher at Morehead Elementary School.
- Each day, I take over duties such as teaching lessons, facilitating recess and lunch, facilitating SEL time, and providing morning routines. I am currently in the process of phasing in and starting thirty full days of student teaching.
- Along with this, I grade papers, create interactive lesson plans, pull small groups, and provide extra one-on-one tutoring for lower-level students.
- I work with the classroom teacher to learn about the most efficient way to teach, equity between students, and facilitate a safe and growth-positive learning environment.
Youth Director
First Friends Meeting

- As the Youth Director for First Friends Meeting, I have learned how to interact with children ages 9-14 and create engaging, interactive lessons and activities, switching them up each time.
- I facilitate volunteer work, outings, holiday parties, schedule planning, and reports for Monthly Meeting.
- I also lead the Sunday school a few times a month for both the Youth Group and the smaller children. We follow a Godly Play curriculum of which I am certified.
- Our Youth Group has nearly doubled in size since May, and we anticipate more growth in the upcoming year. I have coordinated fellowship and outreach with my students and their families.

- During this experience, I would tutor a second-grade student (who eventually grew into third, fourth, and fifth), helping her to become confident in her reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- I created lesson plans, incorporating techniques that would increase attention to the subject matter, with a focus on teaching a child with ADHD in a non-traditional manner.
- Along with this, I have continued to tutor, nanny, and dogsit for this family whenever I am back in the area. I facilitate chore time, put the baby down for naps, and incorporate family play without the use of technology.
